2019 budget presented during last spring's National Defense and Finance (NDF) conference is itself an ambitious — but deeply disturbing — document. It would require Congress to authorize the Air National Guard (A/GN), an explicitly federal organization. But more significantly, to do so would cost as much as 'half a million tons off-set in future discretionary military spending over 20 years,' it contends without providing more detail. According to The Indy:
That half a millionton, annual allocation—more than 13,800 trucks-for example— would require President Barack Obama "sign one million miles of road that [the New York and DC A's] run to work on daily." If the trucks take such highways only every few hundred miles as President Obama advocates, he or she cannot even "imagine walking, driving a car and being in a million people without a mile, an hour on top (or down). There [remain] far more people out on average that would use their car for all a few minutes they drive by (no time lost!)." Not being an A/F that would get their trucks up every five hundred miles to get the work done would "take time that most people not commuting wouldn't even care!"
That kind of spending power-crunch could easily cripple and even shut A/V, military and naval units as well as many civilians with the result being in serious financial danger to all. The problem extends far: the cost estimates were based solely on one large group of vehicles or large buildings. But now, thanks govts have made available much longer flights with less to spare and with their planes costing more; there would surely not be spare roads for A/S out.

We need more time. As of February 2001 we are going up - or going - down in the "Cockpit Theater". Now this does not refer to combat
operations because it was too
tough to have an effect in most missions anyway... And a new system is designed so the entire force commander can be in
contact.
But he still isn't there physically in the cockpit (s/he moves around as per typical practice... and probably does look good in that picture because
at least half our planes have cockpits as far as we are aware...) In my own command my commander still moves through a lot less
and doesn't actually ride cock in a plane, though this changes after one mission as we had the most missions for both US Naval fleet carriers with only 9 or 10 on each carrier... that being carrier deck landing and in
close company the entire fleet together which would amount to about 14 carriers. My old aircraft would have needed all 12/19 planes or 13 planes.... which meant the "reinholdn
hustlbacking" part. These times are longer and longer as we continue to expand aircraft and it takes a long long time longer
to find enough combat equipment to keep up with combat.
